Digital signage - paid advertising?
At South Dakota State University, here in the union, we overhauled our digital signage offerings within the last 3 years. We have 20+ screens placed throughout our building, playing content from open to close. We cap our total ad slots to (16), each running for 15 seconds creating a 4-minute loop. There is a campus wide posting policy in…

Digital signage - paid advertising?
At Oklahoma State we offer rates for student orgs ($50), OSU departments ($100) and non-affiliated ($200) for 14 days maximum. Honestly, we do not sell much corporate or outside advertising but we do not aggressively push it either. Flyers are shown for 15 seconds with a maximum of 20 flyers in rotation. This provides the opportunity for each…

Digital signage - paid advertising?
I have seen Trooh and have spoken with them at a few conferences. We’re wanting to be more selective about the content than what Trooh offers.

Digital signage - paid advertising?
Hi Heather,
We work with a company called Trooh that manages several digital screens on our campus. We can control our programmatic content but they handle the ad sales and share a percentage of the revenue. Happy to connect you with them if you’re interested.

At Ball State University, the Pittenger Student Center offers digital ads for $25 a week. Each ad runs on one of 14 TV’s for 8 seconds. We have a maximum of 30 ads per week. We limit video ads to 15 seconds. We allow anyone who has a recognized student org or is part of a university department to advertise.

Digital signage - paid advertising?
We have a bunch of screens in our Student Center (as many of us do) that scroll through image advertisements/flyers for events from our student organizations and departments. It has become an underutilized space and we’re thinking of offering it as a paid advertising space for external groups (like local business, sports teams, etc.). I have…

PS – regarding the Penn State Go app – we modeled ours after the University of Central Florida called UCF Mobile. The Penn State Go app and the UCF Mobile app are available in the app store for download if you want to explore them. Of course, some icons will be limited without being able to log in to their respective systems. But the…

They respond to text messages by picking up their mail or packages, so we know they are reading them. But we also have something they want, like their Amazon deliveries. So they are motivated. We can only assume they are also reading the other texts about housing contracts and meal plans. Of course, there is always that group of students who…

Hi Lauren,
The app gained widespread popularity from the beginning. It is a “one-stop shop” for all your online Penn State needs, making it super helpful. It contains everything from real-time shuttle/bus schedules to ordering food online from our eateries to our course management system, including grades, campus maps, etc. The app is…
