Alcohol at Student Organization Sponsored Events
Hi Ashley – We have a policy stewarded by another office. Alcohol at Student Organization Sponsored Events
Hello!
If your campus allows student organizations to sponsor events in the Union with alcohol, can you please share your policy?? We are starting to tip our toes into the thought of this and would love to learn how this is handled at other campuses.? I would also love to hear your successes and struggles with this.
Have a…

Hello all!
Recently, our campus’s student success team reached out about creating a Care Unit on EAB’s Navigate360 platform for us. They wanted to know what we, as campus activities/events/student org management, would find helpful with it. Does anyone have experience as a Care Unit in this system? If so, what are you using it for?
Any insights…

Student Orgs and Office Spaces - Outdated Practice?
Hi Alli,
At UC San Diego we noticed this trend about 5+ years ago.? We took all of our student org office spaces (approx. 20) and converted them to shared storage spaces. Most of the spaces are approx. 10’x10′ and we placed 3-4 shelving racks in each space.? A student org is allocated 1-2 shelving racks.? It is shared storage and we…

For those of you who have student organization offices in your student union/centers, how are your student groups accountable for the use of the space? Do they have to sign contracts, agreements?
How do you handle these spaces in the event that a specific student organization is in danger of losing recognition and/or is under a judicial review??

Student Orgs and Office Spaces - Outdated Practice?
At the University of Michigan during the recent renovation of the Michigan Union, we moved from about 60 small private student org offices hidden on the 4th floor to the IdeaHub, now located prominently on the 2nd floor. We designed this space in response to student feedback for a more equitable model. Rather than a few (of our 1500 student… Read more

Student Orgs and Office Spaces - Outdated Practice?
We offer storage lockers about 2×3 feet each with a built-in combination lock and a master key that we have to override the combination. We do not offer office space, or much in the way of office-type resources, and this hasn’t been an issue since we renovated 6 years ago.
We are looking to offer some spaces exclusive to student organizations in…
