Student organization insurance requirements
Dr. Reid –
The University of South Carolina Campus Recreation currently carries general liability, accident and catastrophic insurance on all sport clubs.
The definition of a sport club has changed a few times over the past 15 years (when we first started carrying this insurance) but we currently cover ~40 sport clubs (or former sport…

Thank you! When you say get insurance through the institution, do you mean through your university?

Student organization insurance requirements
Our student organizations are not required to have a standing insurance policy. Some events require certificates of insurance due to the nature of the activities. There was discussion a number of years ago (maybe nine years ago now) about requiring insurance for orgs at all UW campuses. Ultimately this idea was dropped for a variety of…

Our building utilizes Clover for purchases, and I think the route we’re going is for in-person transactions and formatting the sales process like a…

Student organization insurance requirements
Our student organizations are covered through our university policy as long as they register their event through our process.? As for club sports our office purchases a catastrophic policy (https://nirsa.net/portfolio-items/discounts-nirsa-insurance/) that covers our club sports additionally.

Student organization insurance requirements
Hi all,
Do any of your institutions required some student organization to carry insurance policies (such as your club sports orgs or other orgs that pose a risk to students like trap and skeet clubs)?
If so, what are your criteria for requiring insurance, and how do organizations pay for the policy (can they apply for student org funding to…

Hi JC,
I’ve used Chargeback?at a previous institution. We loved it because it was a free platform for us to use. Not sure if that is still the case for universities now.The end-user, if item needed to be mailed, was responsible for payment if shipping was needed. Shipping was handled through the Chargerback system. Super easy to use. The…

Hello Michael,
Thank you for providing some insight into your process! I was wondering what the best baseline for pricing the items would be. I think that we may be possibly implementing a monthly store for low- to medium-value items and then sell the high-value items during a “Mega” Sale for students.
Once I take a full inventory of…
