Greetings from UNT’s Union marketing department! We are searching for a new digital signage platform and would love recommendations. We are currently using Four Winds and have done demos with Reach and Spectrio. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

    Hi Denisha,

Depending on how complicated your needs are, we have used a couple of platforms to good effect.

    1. Brightsign (https://www.brightsign.biz/). There are a range of media players, but we’ve installed the HD224 to drive all the digital menu boards in our restaurants. Their BrightAuthor software is pretty flexible in how the screen is set up, with the ability to set different sized zones on one screen for different rotating content (images or videos), and you can schedule different content rotations. There is no cloud interface, and the software only runs on Windows, but it works well enough for us to push out new specials or price updates on a weekly basis. The content looks like you would see in a McDonalds, etc.

    2. ViewSonic MediaPlayers We use model NMP309-W and their accompanying free software are used to display and update about six wayfinding screens in our community centre. The software is not as good as BrightAuthor, but for content that does not change regularly it works for us. This is the least expensive solution, with the player costing only a few hundred dollars.

    3. Visix (https://help.visix.com/Content/VisixHelpCenter.htm) We have access to a campus-wide deployment of AxisTV (I manage the dozen or so TVs in our building, while other buildings have their own manager). This is a cloud based solution for displaying content, which also gives the University the abilty to override our locally programmed content in the event of emergencies.

I’m happy to provide more details!

    Geoff

    Good morning Denisha,
Last year we switched to RiseVision https://www.risevision.com/ and we have liked it so far! Relatively easy to use and connects with Google Slides.

Hello Denisha! We participate in a campus-wide enterprise contract with https://onsign.tv/. We have both portrait and landscape orientations in the LBJ Student Center and have found that the interface works very well for both. Feel free to reach out?to me with?any?questions.?
