    Hello!

If your campus has a Leadership Development program, could you let me know what it is called? (And maybe any other important factors of the sponsoring department, the campus, etc. that impacted the naming)

    Thank you!

Hi Brenna! At Cal State LA we recently launched our leadership development Program called “Wingspan Leadership Program” which seeks to encompass all leadership opportunities on campus that align with the Social Change Model of Leadership into one umbrella (leadership positions, LEAD worskhops, student leadership conference, online trainings, service hours, etc).

The U-SU’s Center for Student Involvement and Associated Students Incorporated are the main organizer’s of the program. Together we came up with the program name “Wingspan” as a play on our mascot the Golden Eagle, the concepts of soaring and growth and tacked on “leadership program” to the full name so that students understood want we are promoting.

We had suggestions from students and staff and narrowed them down to a top 3 and had students at our leadership conference vote for the final name.

You can check out more info here: wingspanla.org

Thank you Fabi! We are using the Social Change Model as well so this is very helpful!
