HI!

Our institution has mostly a ‘choose your own adventure’ approach. The university president hosts an administrative professionals luncheon during Administrative Professionals Week. After that, it’s up to the individual office/department.? Things that have been done include all staff luncheon, flowers, one on one luncheon with supervisors, gift baskets contributed to by all staff, office decorations.? We also acknowledge our support staff in newsletters and on social media.?

Looking forward to what a webinar would look like!

Hi Scarlett, Lanita, and Steve – Though I am late to the conversation, I would like to share that Northwestern held a reception for the numerous folx who staffed our COVID-19 response. No surprise that it was Jeremy Schenk’s idea. It was a lovely affair with food and speeches.

Additionally, like Steve posted, we do a divisional awards recognition where people nominate staff for values-driven divisional awards. Here is the slate of our current nominees. We have our awards ceremony coming up on Friday July 15. The Student Affairs Leadership Team receives the nominees and then we talk through them after scoring nominations using a rubric.?

Before COVID-19, we did an administrative professionals conference for all of the admin staff. We also offer all admin staff the opportunity to take Strengths during on-boarding.?
