Basic Workday Training Materials
Hey Ben!
The job aids I’ve seen have felt pre-made (by Workday) though the ones our IT team has put out strike a similar “too basic to be useful” tone.
Interesting theory and I will 1000% be using the AI method to help get us situated. I’m glad it works. I wonder if it also has to do with how AI is used as part of Workday. Workday doesn’t…

Basic Workday Training Materials
Many thanks Allen!
Splitting things up across the office makes sense, nice to hear it’s working (as much as it can).
It’s also super helpful to know where some of the stumbling blocks have been so I can try to be prepared.
I’ve also heard that student staff can be difficult to hire/transition over.
Thanks again!

Eric,
I second all of Allen’s sentiments. Here it’s tough to understand what job aids are being made locally and what are provided by the vendor, but we also haven’t found them to be super helpful.
A strategy to add that I’ve found useful: seeking help in this area is the best use I’ve found for AI at work so far. I’ll type in “How do I do X…

Basic Workday Training Materials
Good afternoon, Eric,
First, my condolences on transitioning to Workday. We began transitioning from PeopleSoft last July, and it has been a challenging transition to say the least. We also found the provided videos and job aids to be less than helpful, and unfortunately, we don’t have any good documentation to share.
Within our…

Basic Workday Training Materials
Hello!
We are in the midst of transitioning to Workday (July 1) for many processes at the university, including all financial and HR functions.
We have not found the early videos or “job aids” to be particularly useful (no shade intended for our IT team) because they have been VERY basic and don’t show real specifics.
Has anyone been through…

madfil replied to the discussion Room Rental Rates in the forum Administration, Finance, & Auxiliaries Management 9 months ago
Hi Becki – at Temple University we have different room rates for different user groups. For-profits pay the max rate, non-profits pay 60%, internals pay 20%, students pay $0. Internal rates are meant to be breakeven on operating costs but we have not been allowed to increase rates for at least 10 years despite costs increasing. External rates…

Hello! We are in the process of reviewing our room rental rates and I am curious how everyone establishes their rates? Do you charge different rates for RSO’s, departments, and public? How are your rates determined? How often are they reviewed and what is your philosophy or process for increasing? Thanks in advance!

Organizational Charts for Operational Units
Hi Brad! I’m happy to share the Illini Union org chart. It is attached here. Feel free to reach out with questions and discussion. I’m always thinking about how to streamline and mindful of equitable workload.
