Hi Michael -? I don’t have a set of recent policies about this, but I wonder if you might have a student staff who could do some benchmarking as a project? I have had good success with asking students to create a spreadsheet and search websites/call various peer institutions to see what their rates and policies are.

Specifically for the vendor who takes up 3 tables worth of space, I have charged a multi-table table rate – in your case if would be a 3 table rate since you cannot use that space. I am sure you remember in Norris that we have specific spaces and I am not sure square footage would work for us. If you have a lot of space, square footage sounds reasonable, especially because you could charge a calculated price per square foot that is in line with your other operations (retail, dining), potentially.?

Though I do not see any replies, I can see how this information would be helpful to the community. Can you let us know how you resolve this issue? Kelly

I’m looking for some policies regarding external vendors utilizing your facilities.  Recently we had an APP developer recruiting new users.  We charged the group the external rental rate, however in my opinion they are getting a huge value for a small cost.  Any policies regarding external vendors/recruiters would be helpful.
Also, any rates for tabling with policies regarding space would be helpful as well.  As an example, we have a vendor who rents one table, however they take up 3 tables worth of space with the clothing racks they bring with.  I’m considering changing the policy from table to square feet.
