Are you practicing Self-Care? Self-Care Tips Included!

    Hey friends!

So this is my all-year-round tip for separating work from home (which to me is a big part of self-care): as soon as you get home, change your clothes. I know it sounds corny, but for me, changing clothes mindfully helps remind me that the work part of the day is done. I’m taking off the work uniform and putting on the uniform for shopping, watching TV, sleeping–whatever I plan to do that evening.

I also have a controversial during-the-day self-care theory. I think we should all take smoke breaks without the smokes.? LOL? Seriously! I smoked for about ten years, through college and a few years after. There was something really therapeutic about having to stop, go outside, and take a few minutes to have a cigarette. Often, someone else would be outside doing the same thing and conversation would start–sometimes about work, sometimes not. There was a great camaraderie between smokers! I met lots of people on campus that way. If there wasn’t anyone there, it was a nice time to recenter myself, get some fresh air (well, mostly fresh), and briefly recharge. So consider taking a smoke-free smoke break.

Thanks so much for sharing this article! I’m a book reader so that’s definitely a self-care item for me on a regular basis – I also love to watch K Drama shows on Netflix. Korean dramas are very different from American shows and they can be a nice mix of silliness, workplace comedy and sometimes drama with work/families.
