    Hello all!?

I am currently one of the Operations Supervisors for the Student Center at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Over the last year of returning to predominantly in person campus events and greater need for A/V technology in rooms, it came to my team’s attention that while our cost of doing?everythinghas gone up, our prices for additional technology in rooms has not. My desire is in no way to start trying to turn a massive profit over on students, and most of our fees for student events are complimentary/heavily discounted. The two types of clients that seem to be getting a lot of equipment for very little are our Departmental events (still discounted but not as much as students) and our external events (rarely discounted).?

Any information/practices you all are able to share will be welcome, and I look forward to hearing how anyone else is billing for additional equipment at this time. I hope your winter semesters are off to a great start!?

    Thanks you.

    HI Harrison,

We don’t have any equipment charges in our building. We have room rentals for departments, department special events and private events. Student groups do not pay a rental fee. We do charge a rental rate for equipment used outside of the student union. We charge tiered fees for set up, technicians, and event staff for all groups, including students. I’ve attached our rates and definitions.?

    Hope this helps!
