National Election Planning: Can the past help us this year? SPAR Quarterly Meeting

  • National Election Planning: Can the past help us this year? SPAR Quarterly Meeting

Our national elections in November provide us an opportunity to support our student and campus communities while we move through one of the most important moments for our form of democracy. At the quarterly meeting hosted by the Seasoned Professionals and Retirees, we will explore plans for the upcoming election on campuses and hear about what we think we learned from 2016 or 2020 elections. Dr. John Taylor’s article in the recent Bulletin sets the stage for the importance of the moment and some of our challenges. We hope to look at some of the nitty gritty and share thoughts, ideas, and hopefully some wisdom of what we have learned that might be helpful today.

Our tentative plan for the meeting is …
    3:00 – 3:05 p.m. Welcome
3:05 – 3:15 p.m.? Update on New York City conference (from the SPAR perspective)
    3:15 – 3:50 p.m.? Discussion: 2024 Elections?
    • How are our campuses preparing for the election?
    • What plans are in place for post-election responses?
    • What did we learn from the 2016 and 2020 elections?
      3:50 – ????????Schmoozing!
Hope to see you on the 25th on Zoom:?
