Using NACE Competencies in evaluations and learning outcomes
Posted by lanita on November 2, 2022 at 6:23 pmHello!
We are revamping our student learning outcomes to reflect the NACE competencies.? Does anyone have samples of rubrics used to measure student employee development/learning using the competencies that you’d be willing to share?? Thanks so much!

Hi Lanita,
We used a rubric in the past but it is based on the old NACE competencies. On the second draft of our new tool, based on the new competencies, which I can email you. Not ready to upload it yet since it is still in draft form. Please let me know if you are interested. alisonward@utk.edu

Hi Lanita,
I know these are a bit later than promised but we finalized everything yesterday! I have attached our new learning outcomes and new assessment tool which are both grounded in NACE. We utilize a 360 approach with our students. Each student employee completes the survey, as do their supervisors. Data is compared once all are completed. We have also incorporated the five leadership practices from The Leadership Challenge as they are a part of our recognition program.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Lanita!?
My coworker, Barrett McGee, and I are just about to present on this topic at the Region VII Conference this weekend! Here is a link to a Google folder with our documents (including the rubric) and presentation slides. As a head’s up, we’re still fine-tuning the presentation today, so there may be some draft slides on there! :)?
Our learning outcomes are based on NACE competencies and our divisional competencies, which were also created based on NACE. So you may not see the same exact language from NACE, but the foundation is there!?
I’m happy to schedule a call with you if you need further context.?
Warmly,
Adriane——————————
