We grouped the scavenger hunt with trivia questions and group a photo at each location. Nothing too complicated. Each group then presented their results with their team name and whatever theme they came up with along the way. Good times.

We are in the process of creating an Escape Room as a way to teach our staff how to do and where things are in our building and throughout our campus.? This could be a way to add in to your scavenger hunt where you include different puzzles that they would have to solve before going to the next office.? This is the first year we are doing the escape room, so hopefully it works out!? I think it will be a ton of fun!

Hey Emily,?

Sorry about my delay!!? So, right now, we are still in the planning stage.? I have been working with 2 of my student employees and my graduate student on this.? We have come up with breaking one of our meeting rooms into two, then using pipe & drape to make 2 ‘rooms’.? The theme of the room is that I was kidnapped!? lol, so the clues they have to solve need to get them out of the rooms so they can find me.? We are trying to incorporate as much of our equipment and training into each room, so we are setting the rooms with things like our coat racks, our tables, stacks of chairs, easels, art panels, dance floor and laptops.? Then we are throwing in a mix of random puzzles and activities that they have to complete to get out of the room.? For instance, there may be a letter where they have to find the three numbers in it that will give them the combo to the master lock.? Then in that box, it will give them a key to use to do the next thing.? Still a work in progress and definitely using pinterest to try and make it work!!

We’ve also used Goose Chase and it was fun and the students really liked it. They would share things like what socks they were wearing today, photos of their pets, something that inspires them, shout-outs to colleagues, etc. We gave prizes to those who submitted top points. Worked especially great when we were completely online.?

We’ve also down the more simple idea with group photos around campus with points assigned. I am proud to say my office won that year because we were the only ones to get a picture with the president!?

And, we’ve also done a Kahoot and live game show style with trivia about the building and some of campus. It was a good way to share out interesting facts that the students hadn’t known.??

One more idea…we’ve done a “Mediocre Race” (as opposed to Amazing Race) where teams completed challenges around the building and offices were in charge of creating the challenges and scoring them.?

The escape room idea is also a pretty awesome idea!!?
