Buh Bye!

    Friends and Colleagues,?

Using a vintage phrase from a 1995 Saturday Night Live skit, my position as Co-Chair for the Seasoned Professional and Retirees Community of practice has come to an end. It has been an amazing two years. First the feeling I had reconnecting with ACUI after having had to step away for a few years was warm and welcoming. While processes of volunteer accountability changed a bit, passion for the field and compassion for each other has not.?

Second, I had an incredibly delightful time working with my Co-Chair, Gai Olyha, someone who for these past decades I only knew from afar but was not personally acquainted with.? This position, gave me the opportunity to collaborate and develop a friendship with someone I might not have ever gotten to know had I not taken that first step.??

Finally, just being able to contribute once again to ACUI with a few projects and participate in virtual and on-site get-togethers was all together a very gratifying experience.?

I mention these three things because if any of this resonates with you, take the next step and apply now to the vacated co-chair position on SPAR.

Gail will carry on….so if you only know her from afar, I swear she makes a great teammate.??

I wish everyone an enjoyable summer.

Best Wishes Chickie – I?d like to echo your sentiments having also served as a co-chair. For us retirees, it is a great way to stay connected and make a contribution. But in the years since this group has been in existence, I don?t believe we?ve had an non-retiree serve and it might be time to get some perspective from that cohort. Anyway, my best to all and have a great summer. Joanna and I are at SeaTac waiting for our flight to Amsterdam and a month touring our favorite cities. Take care

Thanks for your leadership of this collective.  It was good to see you and other SPAR members face-to-face in Chicago.  You make a compelling case for someone to fill your position.  Of course, since you and Gail have created such good chemistry together, maybe you should re-up too!
