But in the years since this group has been in existence, I don?t believe we?ve had an non-retiree serve and it might be time to get some perspective from that cohort. Using a vintage phrase from a 1995 Saturday Night Live skit, my position as Co-Chair for the Seasoned Professional and Retirees Community of practice has come to an end. It has been an amazing two years. First the feeling I had reconnecting with ACUI after having had to step away for a few years was warm and welcoming. While processes of volunteer accountability changed a bit, passion for the field and compassion for each other has not. 

Second, I had an incredibly delightful time working with my Co-Chair, Gai Olyha, someone who for these past decades I only knew from afar but was not personally acquainted with.  This position, gave me the opportunity to collaborate and develop a friendship with someone I might not have ever gotten to know had I not taken that first step.  

Finally, just being able to contribute once again to ACUI with a few projects and participate in virtual and on-site get-togethers was all together a very gratifying experience. 

I mention these three things because if any of this resonates with you, take the next step and apply now to the vacated co-chair position on SPAR.
