When to Work Replacement – SubItUp?
Hello All,
As I’m sure many of you are aware, When to Work has announced they are eliminating their base plan and requiring everyone to move to the “pro plan.” Our office is not interested in the pro plan, as it does not add any functionality we have wanted. It also more than doubles our annual subscription cost. We are looking at SubItUp but they have had such an increase in business they just cancelled the demo we scheduled with them.
- What other scheduling software are people using for scheduling student employees?
- Does anyone use SubItUp?
- How do you like it?
- Would you be willing to jump on a Zoom and show me the basics of what it looks like? We aren’t ready to commit without being able to see the software and they are willing to do a demo anymore.

Hi Ken,
At my previous institution, we actually got rid of Subitup and switched to Microsoft Teams. If your campus already uses Teams, it has a Shifts function within that works pretty well. We used it for staffing two buildings from 6:30am – 2am and two people per shift, so there was a lot going on. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as standalone software but I would guess it has 95% of the qualities you would want. I also like using Teams because now its only one of two apps students need to use to work for us (7pointops). Let me know if you want me to go through a demo with you.?
