Soundtrack for business is the commercial version of Spotify. You can even import playlists from Spotify. This is what we use for music at events. It requires being paired to a single device per license ?

Pandora for business is a similar service. Theirs requires you to purchase a specific hardware device to stream from.?

we also use Rockbot in our food court, which allows guests to vote for songs they’d like to hear.?

Hi Erin,
Elon University uses Pandora for business in our student center. Unfortunately it does not allow for choosing specific artists. So when we have a concert we can’t choose the artists music to create some excitement around the artist. There also seems to be a lot of unknown artists who are doing covers of well known music.
Glad you asked the question because I am now considering a change.

Hi Erin,
I filled out the survey, but also listing it in the thread for others. We switched to Rockbot https://rockbot.com/ within the last few years because it was cheaper than the service we had been using. But it has more perks than we had previously had with Sirius!?

-User intuitive – all Building Managers are given access too and can easily navigate
-Viewable online, with mobile app, or via wall plated system. Mobile app is very helpful for Building Managers.
-Can choose songs via Rockbot playlists, shuffle through multiple playlists at a time (example: modern rock, indie, and coffeehouse playlists shuffling), or create your own Spotify playlist and import through to the system. The last point has been really helpful when event planning. I let event coordinators from other departments (Admissions, Diversity/Inclusivity/Belonging, Orientation, Student Involvement, etc.) know that they can send me a link to a Spotify playlist for pre/post event and then we can import the playlist and play it on Rockbot. (You’re not technically playing from Spotify, it just reads the playlist and downloads the songs onto a new playlist with the same name within Rockbot. Very occasionally?Rockbot won’t have a couple songs on their platform, but that’s rare.)
-Multiple zones available – we have three: main areas, dining hall, large entertainment spaces
-Rarely plays inappropriate song because we have the filter on for explicit lyrics, but you can ban certain songs or artists. The most I’ve had to do this is if some of the lyrics are a bit insensitive and the system misses it.
-Can create music schedules. This is really nice for having more chill songs in the morning and then in the mid-morning we switch to more upbeat music

We have recently purchased Cloud Cover for all of our event spaces. It is similar to pandora radio. You can make custom “mix stations” for your spaces. Its been good the only caveat is you are not able to select specific songs to play just like radio – only genres and themes. You are able to remove/skip songs from playlists if you do not like them.?
