    Hi all,
Our campus is opening up catering options to allow food trucks on campus as part of campus events and as fundraising opportunities.? if your campus allows similar activities, do you have guidelines, limits, or sample contracts?? Any problems/issues to think about it?? We’ve been brainstorming already but this is pretty new territory for our campus.? We’ve had food trucks at 2 events in the last year and that went mostly well (learned a few things, nothing bad) but opening it up more will likely create an influx.

    Thanks,
    Stephanie

Hello!  We have a Food Trucks section on the Plan Your Event page of our Student Centers website if you want to take a look! Here is the link: https://www.vanderbilt.edu/studentcenters/food-trucks/  You’ll see on there, but if a Food Truck is coming, the paperwork we must collect is a Limited Premises form (our campus contract for vendors) and to get a copy of their COI.  Happy to connect you with one of our event managers if you have any other questions!

    Thank you!

Stephanie – Hello from UMass Boston.? My department oversees that Campus Center, as well as university-wide conference services.? Our responsibilities include contracts for both conferences and the use of external caterers (use of external caterers is rare).? Given these responsibilities, it seemed reasonable that we would manage requests for food trucks.? Requests for food trucks at events have grown significantly over the last three years.? The university requires 3 items to secure a food truck for a program/event.

-Signed Service Agreement ? sample attached
-Certificate of Insurance ?- See item #7 on the agreement for insurance requirements
-Current copy of Mobile Food Truck Permit from the city in which the truck is registered

Once these items are received, we work with the student group or department regarding parking, placement, etc.? It should be noted, that all of our requests are for food trucks at events (food quantity purchased in advance – ex. 500 grilled cheese sandwiches).? We are not entertaining food truck requests to provide daily service that may impact retail operations or our agreement with the on-campus food service provider.? I hope this is? helpful.

    Hello,?
We at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln have a Food Truck website and policy. Here is the link to that: https://foodtrucks.unl.edu/welcome. We make all food truck have a Certificate of Liability Insurance, health permit from the county and then a signed services agreement. We work with the department or Student group with Parking and Transit Services to find a location if not already pre-approved. We also do not operate during home football games. Let me know if you have any other questions and you can contact me directly.
    Thank you,
