We have both on our campus. We have a few buildings with exclusivity to certain caterers then we have an Approved Caterer List that can be used on the rest of campus. The catering entities must apply to be on the list and provide their last 3 County Health inspections. The list is maintained by our Risk Management/Environmental Health Services area. They update it quarterly as needed. Any new caterers that want to come on campus must be vetted by that department for any one-off events..

Looking for those who have an on-campus catering operation, but they are not exclusive to providing food service for events in your spaces.   Conversation are in progress to remove the exclusivity of our current catering operation, and allow external caterers for events in our event spaces.   Lots of questions are popping up related to managing this (too many to list!), so I’m hoping to connect with others that are set-up this way and hear how your team manages it.
