Hi,
We do not allow external groups to table, but if they are “sponsored” by a student or campus group, we allow them to. There is no revenue from doing this, but it does limit the vendors that can come to ones that won’t break certain contracts on campus (i.e. Pepsi v Coke, ATT v Verizon, CHASE v PNC v Huntington).?
The ones that do come in benefit the students, especially first years, since they are related to the services they will need. We have also seen that the limitations prevent our spaces from becoming community corkboards like the ones you see at the entrance of some stores. The appearance is more refined.?
When we get requests from vendors, we offer them our venue spaces, such as the ballroom or conference rooms, where they can host an event to promote their services. Those follow our normal pricing structures.?
I hope that helps,

Subject: Concourse Tables for Community Use
We are looking at renting out some of our concourse tables for community use. Currently we only allow student orgs and campus departments to use these spaces.
Do you allow external parties to use tables in your union for advertising/recruiting purposes? If so, what are your parameters for use, how has this impacted students (good/bad), and what is your pricing structure?
Thank you for any information you can provide!
