Is Active Dialogue Bi-directional?
Hello Friends,
A team of ACUI volunteers are joining me in planning the second Active Dialogue Institute. University of Michigan is our host site and we are excited to be on campus July 16 – 18, 2025. As we plan, I will share topics that spark dialogue and ask, how can we apply active dialogue to this situation?
In this week’s news, one newswriter speculated that a key political figure was effectively removed from his post after making comments about American culture. The writer suggested that the comments were criticisms about American culture.??
If the writer is correct, is this censorship? Censure? Cancel Culture? Is this the “cost” public figures must pay due to their title and position??
As a campus leader, is your role to facilitate active dialogue or should you engage in active dialogue??
Let’s discuss!
Be well,
