At Arizona State University, there are a variety of events we hosted to honor Martin Luther King Jr Day. A few of our campus’ events are highlighted below:

• MLK March on West on January 22nd: A tradition at Arizona State University’s West Valley campus that dates back to 1991, reaching middle school students, members of the ASU community and the public to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. and to understand the history-changing 1963 March on Washington. This in-person event includes educational presentations about the history of the civil rights movement, a musical program and an inspirational rendition of the “I Have a Dream” speech by ASU faculty members.

• Dr Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service on January 25th: The ASU MLK Celebration Committee and Changemaker Central @ ASU provides transportation from all four campus locations to various volunteer sites across the community.??

• “The Virtue of Color Blindness and the American Project” with Andre Archie on January 16th:?Author Andre Archie will be speaking on campus and hosting a book signing for his book, The Virtue of Color Blindness .?

January 20 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and here are a few celebrations happening in Dallas, Texas!

The?43rd annual MLK celebration will feature a?week-long series of events. The theme:?“The Unfinished Agenda of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: Where Do We Go Now?”?Here are some events to check out?if?you’re in the metroplex next week:?

• Day of Reflection, Prayer, and Dedication:?January 14, 11 a.m.?1 p.m.?

• Job Fair:?January 15, 11 a.m.?3 p.m. at Fair Park’s Briscoe Center.?

• Multicultural Showcase:?January 16, 12?1 p.m. at Dallas City Hall.?

• Equity Indicators Symposium:?January 17, 9 a.m.?3 p.m.?

• MLK Day Parade:?January 18, 10 a.m. beginning at Fair Park.?
