  Black History Month Member Spotlight – Feb 8

  Hello everyone,

  If you’ve heard his voice then you know this person is built for the spotlight (and a mic). He’s a musician and vocalist whose Region VIII karaoke performance was concert worthy. In addition to singing, he serves as the Region VIII Inclusivity Coordinator and a member of the 2024 Conference Planning Team. Our February 8 spotlight is Isaac Barber.

  Isaac began his career in student affairs in 2009, earned a Master’s degree in 2018, and joined UCONN as an Associate Director in 2020. Two years later he was promoted to Director of Student Union and Event Services. His commitment to the profession is unwavering as is his dedication to volunteering at ACUI.

  “Students are the top of my priority list and to be able to see that work happen here at UCONN, giving fresh perspective and seeing the program build?realizing that one person can’t build it alone. Student leaders, managers, supervisors have to be trained to build student leaders and be intentional about the students’ experience.”
