  Black History Month Member Spotlight – Feb 20

  Hello everyone,

  Anthony Otero is a published author, blogger, regional director, and champion of grad students. With more than two decades of experience in student affairs and development, Anthony specializes in event planning and management at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. His formal title is Director of Meetings and Events, but after meeting him you will find he is so much more than that.

  Anthony pours himself into the students and staff he leads. His presence on campus is felt and heard. He once shared a story about being in his office on a Saturday and taking a call about a student in distress. The student was overwhelmed by thoughts of graduation and having an emotional breakdown. Anthony’s presence and listening ear helped calm the situation. He counseled the student and guided them to continued support. As he reflected on the situation he considered what could have happened had he not been there that weekend. That’s the heart and soul of Anthony Otero.
