Telling Our Stories – in BOSTON
Hi folks! As we are wrapping up semesters or just powering through to our respective winter breaks if our students have already left, I just wanted to give an update about the annual conference in Boston… and ask for your help.
We submitted Telling Our Stories to be a session at the conference and I am happy to say it has been accepted and will be making it’s return to the conference setting. I have been told this was one of some people’s favorite moments from the past, so we wanted to try to bring it back. One goal I have is to have a set of diverse stories and lived experiences to be shared. So as Mariah Carey says at this time of year, “All I want for Christmas is YOU!” If you are interested in telling a 5-10 minute story about one or more of your experiences as and LGBTQIA+ person that could possibly resonate with others joining us in Boston, I would love for you to reach out to me so we can possibly get you added to the session description. If you are unsure or would like to run some ideas past me I’d be happy to talk through it with you as well. As someone with a journalism background, I believe storytelling is vital, especially within our community. Please feel free to send me names to poke as well if you prefer too. The last time we did this it was virtual in April of 2021 and you can read more about it here.
One last thing… I’m looking for a co-lead! Volunteering with ACUI has been a blessing in my young professional career and I’d love to connect with anyone who has any interest of joining me with bringing fresh ideas and ways to do things.
Happy Everything, Everyone!
