Hello everyone,

Please join me in congratulating Abby Garcia on her new role as the Gender Equity Education Program Manager at The University of Houston.
It brings me great joy to celebrate Abby’s accomplishment in landing this role and bringing her talents to bear in a new way.

I love a great career development story and Abby has given me permission to share hers!

We had the pleasure of (virtually) welcoming Abby to ACUI Central Office this past summer as the 2022 summer intern. She attended IPDS, worked with Region VII on their Grad and Grow program, and she applied and stepped into the role of CoP Lead for Grads and New Professionals. We finally met in person at the Region II conference where I got to join others in celebrating Abby as she received the Rising Star Graduate Student award. So many accolades and accomplishments in a short period and I’m sure there are more to come.
