At Texas A & M Commerce at the Rayburn Student Center we require all painting events to supply their own table covers and tarps.  If they do not provide these items the event does not occur.

Yes- tarps under tables.  We also try to use older tables.

At the University of Delaware, we purchased tarps in different sizes that need to go down before the tables and chairs are set.   Once the tarp is down, we put some gaff tape on the corners and along the edges to make sure there is no tripping hazard.   While it’s a bit time consuming and it takes a few of us to do it, we have found it definitely is better than the alternative of spilled paint.   As long as you have a space to store the tarps, it’s well worth it to get them.  The student groups then supply their own disposable table covers.

Hello! At UNC Charlotte we require groups to provide their own tablecloths and floor coverings. If we were to get into a situation where the group has forgot their own or they haven’t brought enough, we do have a back stock of reusable floor coverings and disposable tablecloths to supply for them. Additionally, we only allow water based paints in our spaces just in case any spillage were to get on the carpet or seep through the floor coverings.
