While most Universities have design guidelines, I am looking to my ACUI colleagues for assistance in our quest to establish design guidelines that further address and define student center interiors.? We are interested in examples of guidelines for office space interior finishes that includes color, carpet, furniture, doors and frames. Non-student center specific guide books or resources would also be appreciated.

    Charlie,

The Memorial Union project planning started in 2015-16 in alignment with the campus development of a long term master plan.? Campus design standards have been refined the last several years with specific guidance for future projects.? I have added the link for categories plus overview information. https://campus.und.edu/facilities-management/design-guidelines.html

For MU building partners we also have language in our MOUs that outlines expectations for the new furniture installed in offices, suite interior and other common spaces that is considered MU inventory that our department now manages.? There are some limits on other items coming into the building, plans are requested for advance review. I could share more on this if helpful, it is very specific to the project furniture plans

The MU MOU also included language on UND brand guidelines related to decor, marketing messaging etc.as there is now a campus team that includes both facilities and marketing staff that review projects that fall into environmental graphics branding that includes colors, wall textures as examples:?
