Room Signage

  • Posted by Chuck Brown on April 8, 2024 at 4:44 pm

Is anyone using signs outside rooms to let people know if room is available or what event is occurring in the room or just that room is not available? If so, what platforms or devices are being used?

We use Amazon Fires outside our rooms, synced over wifi to 7PointOps which is in turn synced with 25Live. Similar to Kim they show a list of events for the day. We also have tablets outside each elevator that show a building wide list of events.

      Hi Chuck,
We use the Crestron TSS-1070 room scheduler outside each of our meeting rooms (https://www.crestron.com/Products/Control-Surfaces/Touch-Screens/Large-Touch-Screens/TSS-1070-B-S).  We integrate Mazevo data to display upcoming events for the day.  It can do more, we are just scratching the surface.  Happy to dive in further if you’d like.
      Best,
      Paul

Who did your installation and have you had any experience or do you know if it will interface with Astra Scheduling?

    Hi Chuck,

The 3 union facilities at JMU use a Visix display system.? Our version is wireless, and battery operated, so it fits well with our older facility. I’d be happy to send more info if you are interested.

The digital signage platform we use is call Carousel; EMS talks to Carousel and allows us to show the schedules on the tablets

    Hi Chuck,?

We currently use signs (see attached) that have the ability to swap out the paper.? Everyday our staff swap them out to display the events happening for that day.? We have roughly 29 signs we swap out daily.? We’ve been doing this for 20+ years.? We are contemplating on switching to digital, however, when we’ve inquired previously it was cost prohibitive.??

    Thanks!

We also still produce paper room cards that are generated from EMS and our building managers change that out each night during the closing shift.? We would love to go digital so this conversation is helpful to see what folks are currently using.? For us, it has been cost prohibitive in the past.
