Hello and Happy Friday!? We are working on replacing our Grand Ballroom flooring with carpet tiles and with that, need to purchase a portable dance floor.? I would love to hear your recommendations for dance floor vendors.? I have received information from MityLite for the Magnattach Dance Floor Kit through Procure, however I’d love to hear of any other products you would recommend.

    Ashley,
We’ve had the Mity-Lite dance for 5 years now since our ballroom is carpeted and use it 4 or 5 times a year.  It takes two people about 20 minutes to set it up and about 30 to put it away.  The 4′ x 4′ pieces are heavy but it’s simple to put together since there are no bolts or other pieces to worry about. I would recommend it.

    Hi Ashley,

About 7 years ago we purchased a portable parquet dance floor from Event Equipment Rental called Florlok: https://www.eventequipmentrentals.com/florlokwoodparquetdancefloor.  It was an investment, but a very good one.  Very durable, fairly easy to assemble, high quality.  After 7 years it still looks great and functions well.  Happy to share more details.

    Best,

    Paul

      Hi Ashley,

I agree with Paul. The Florlok from Event Equipment Retail is great and very durable. We have used a combination of this floor since we opened our facility in 2002. The only drawback from the floor is that the setup takes about 60-90 minutes (30-40 minutes to tear down). We sometimes need 6-8 students in order to setup and tear down the floor for each event that requests it.

Because we always need to bring on additional staffing for this type of setup, at one point we looked and purchased the Mity Lite Magnetic dance Floor and did not like it. It is easier to setup, however we seemed to have all kinds of issues prying the floor apart. Hopefully they were able to fix this. We ended up going back to Florlock when we needed to more dance floor replacement parts.

Attached are a few pic of the Florlok that we set for a weddings recently. I am happy to provide more information if needed.

      Brian
