Subject: RE: Online Ticket Refund Policy
Hi Carol,
At Syracuse we’re with Tickets.com for our student centers (which can be acad/admin sponsored) and student organization events that could include venues outside of the student centers. Everything in our athletics facilities are handled by Ticketmaster outside of my purview. Our policies can be found at Ticketing Policy – Student Experience ? Syracuse University, more specifically our refund policy states:
Event Cancellations:
If a ticketed event is cancelled, all ticket holders are eligible for a refund. Please note that the refund process may take up to three weeks as it is facilitated by Tickets.com, our trusted third-party box office vendor.
If a ticket buyer’s refund cannot be processed because their credit card information is not saved in the box office portal, they will be contacted via email. They will be given a one-week deadline to add their card to the system. Failing to meet this deadline will result in the forfeiture of their refund.
Individual Refunds:
Individual ticket buyers have the option to request a full refund for their ticket(s) up to 3 days prior to the event.
For refund requests made less than 3 days before the event, the granting of a refund will be at the discretion of Box Office Management. This is due to the timing of the request and the availability of staff to process the return before the event.
Refunds requested after the event will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to the discretion of Box Office Management.
Post-Covid we moved to a model where only events that charge for admission or have a capacity concern are required to be ticketed so our usage has dropped considerably as many events are free to attend. Most student organization sponsored events that do charge are in the $3-$5 range so most students don’t bother asking for a refund if their plans change. Unless we have a major cancellation I’m doing maybe 25-30 refunds a semester.
Happy to answer any other questions you may have!

Subject: Online Ticket Refund Policy
Good morning
Roger Williams University is an Audience View/University Tickets campus; and have seen a wide variety of refund policies depending on event/department sponsors. Our departments who utilize this program is everyone from athletics, academic departments, alumni and our law school. Our clubs and organizations that utilize the system typically do not allow refunds unless there is a very valid reason.
I am looking to create one refund policy for all of our campus partners to utilize for our ticketing system. I am looking to see if other institutions have an online ticket refund policy that they are looking to share to assist.
Thank you in advance for the assistance.
