NFC Tags

    Hi all,?

TikTok and Facebook groups have introduced me to NFC tags to automate tasks like controlling smart home LED lights or setting laundry timers. It had me thinking about innovative ways NFC tags could be used in the college union. Is anyone doing anything fun and interesting with them??

    Thanks!
    Adriane

I have often thought about utilizing NFT tags for Building manager rounds.  They could check in using a smart device to prove they were making hourly rounds.  I’ve also considered using them for inventory purposes.  In a perfect world you could have a scanner on the door of each closet and as items are removed they come out of inventory and as they return they go back into inventory.  Just thoughts I have had, no practical applications as of yet.

    Thanks

      Hi all!
      This definitely caught my interest:
you could have a scanner on the door of each closet and as items are removed they come out of inventory and as they return they go back into inventory.
We have tried an inventory scanning system in the past, but the students found it too time consuming to stop and scan/process each item with their phone or tablet.  We’re back to manually keeping track on a white board.
Does anyone use the above mentioned type of inventory system?
      Thank you!   Kay

      Michael,?

Thanks for your reply. My brain also first went to using them for building rounds, then thinking of inventory. Like you, I also need more time to think through the logistics of the application of it all.?

    How about:

    • Artist interviews of art exhibits in an art gallery or art around the facility/campus
    • Meeting room/technology/catering assistance form or alert sent to team member’s devices
    • Students signing into an event/completing a digital waiver
