Mazevo

    We are considering changing our event management software. We currently have EMS and the customer support has really been almost non-existant since they have changed ownership.?Have any campuses moved to different event management software providers? If so, what vendors, and what has been your experience?

    Hi Melanie-

    We just transitioned in March and so far love it. We were also on EMS and the customer support with Mazevo has been truly amazing.  They respond quickly, they will send you video explanations to show how/where something is, they are always looking for ways to improve the software, etc.  While we are not fully integrated yet (haven’t started letting people request through the software), we are so happy we made the change.

     

    Things to be mindful of when transitioning:

    • Some things in EMS do not transfer so figure out what you need and download those before hand
    • Temporary contacts are not a thing in Mazevo, so if you use those heavily (we did for our student org leaders) you will need to manually enter in primary contacts once in Mazevo. The good news is, the information does show under the Event name (shows as conversion information with EMS ID) so you can find what you need.
    • We also transitioned from 7 point to the Operations piece of Mazevo. That also takes some time to get use to and it doesn’t offer all the things 7 point does.  With Mazevo’s new partnership with 7 point, we might go back depending on cost.

    Hi Melanie,

    We switched last summer and it has been great!

    • Loads more customer support
    • Easier to use and learn for customers and student staff
    • Web based means Building Managers can look things up while they are out and about, not just limited to look questions up at their computer work station

    For us, all of our students and staff were put into Mazevo and connect with Anthology (student org software), luckily we don’t have to worry about changing contacts too frequently.
