    Howdy Facilities & Operations peeps,

I am working with a colleague to draft an internal protocol for our student union and recreation center regarding sending a message to all internal employees when there are threats in our facility and I’m curious if any of you have something similar in place.

This would not be meant for when there are campus wide or sever threats like a gun threat. It would be more intended for when there is a small power outage, a challenging guest, or something else that would be good for all staff to be aware of. The message would be two, maybe three sentences long and would come from one of our management team members.

For anyone who has a similar protocol:

    • What type of factors play into deciding when a situation is one that should be communicated out to all staff?
    • Did you work with your campus police in development of the protocol or communication template?
    • Who does your communication go out to?
    • How has it been received by staff? Has it caused any undue panic or alarm?

    Thank you!
