Hello!? We are in the process of opening up a space that will have some billiards/e-games/lounge space/and TV’s.? Would anyone with a similar space within their building be willing to share any operational policies you have associated with it?? Event/usage policies, billiards & gaming check in/check out processes, etc.?? Any information regarding these types of spaces would be appreciated!??

    Thank you!

    Hi Ashley,

At UWF, pool cues, air hockey paddles, foosballs, game controllers and ping pong paddles are all checked out at our service desk. We swipe the student’s ID card into our POS register system to help track usage and are held at the desk until the student returns their item. We have created signage in and around the game room to help direct students to the service desk and are working on a webpage update that will provide policy information.?

This is my first time managing a game room so there’s still a lot of trial and error involved. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to discus any details further.

    Good Luck!

We revamped our Game Room for this current year/semester and no longer have staff present in the space to check in/out equipment. This are our policies for the space, but item 4 is not reflective of our current process. All equipment is on the walls or by the game for people to grab and play. This includes controllers for the Nintendo Switch and Play Station 5. We have been using this configuration for about 3 weeks now and it seems to be working well without staff. Our complex managers do open/close the space daily, turning on/off lights, checking for damage and broken equipment, etc. And we have signage that condenses our policies into a single sentence for each line that is posted throughout the space for patrons to see. Let me know if you have any questions.
