    HI!

We are in the process of switching as well. Social Tables has just become far too expensive for what we need. The program we are moving to over the summer is Prismm. I am hoping it works out, the functionality looks very similar to Social Tables and the pricing is much more reasonable. Let me know if you want contact information!

    Hi Paul,?

We switched from Socialtables to Primm (formerly Allseated) four years ago. I miss certain things about Socialtables, but our campus’s support in adding new spaces to the system has made it so much easier. If you or your events team would like to look at the software, please have them reach out.

We gave up on Social Tables a few years ago due to rising costs, and went back to Visio, which had been used for years prior to launching Social Tables. It is certainly not as robust, but meets the basic needs as long as it is set-up correctly… and is really cost effective.?

I went back through my emails and found a good post in this form by Braden Kuznia from a few years ago that gives a lot of information on this topic. Hi Paul,

We’ve been using MS Visio for close to 10 years now.  It’s a little cumbersome to get started but once you build your room templates they’re super simple to edit and save alternates. We’ve got a pretty robust library of standard set ups for our flex spaces now and years worth of specific events.  Initially we had to pay an additional licensing fee but after a couple years our campus’ MS Office package started including it as standard so it’s been free for a while.

I presented on this a couple years ago when we hosted an ACUI drive in and I’ve attached the PowerPoint I showed for the presentation.  If you already have access to visio it should help you poke around a little and see if it’s something you want to look at more seriously.  Happy to answer any questions you may have!

    Scott
