Electronic Scooters (or even non-electric) Rules in your Union

According to my student workers some buildings on campus do not even allow scooters in the building. At the union we generally don’t have any issues when students walk them through to grab food or whatever. But I am a little frustrated by the ones who zip through at like 20mph with no regard for other guests or themselves. What is everyone’s union rules/policy with them? I want to be make a case that we should have a “not allowed inside” rule with them but I want to have some data first.

    Our policy states that?
Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to the following:
Skateboarding, roller skating, rollerblading, or cycling, or the use of personal recreational vehicles.

We added the last item to include scooters, hoverboards, or any yet-to-be-invented items!

We do allow guests to carry their transports in, but they are not permitted to use them in the building or on our adjacent plazas.

The outdoor spaces are hard to monitor, but we do our best. Our main issue seems to be users parking scooters too close to the doorways making it difficult for any guests to access the doors safely!

Hi there!? We have window clings posted on each of our exterior doors stating that no bikes, no smoking, no pets unless service pets.? We then have our policies posted on the website:?

    Bicycles/Skateboards/Rollerblades/Shoes with Wheels?
    • The use of bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, hoverboards, shoes with wheels and other such devices are prohibited in the Campus Center.??
    • Please Note: Bicycles are prohibited from being brought inside of the Campus Center and should be left outside of the building ? there are several bike racks around campus.?
