Look at a company called Max-R they created a custom Lectern on wheels for us branded to our school colors that is very lightweight.
It’s made from recycled milk cartons- so it’s pretty indestructable.

Hi Susan,
Thanks for asking.? Up until this moment there has been only cursory and sporadic inspections of temporary stages/structure on-campus.? I do think any of these companies are going to be licensed by the state and that would be sufficient for their safety for on-campus use.

Joe,
Some things that may help. If the vendor has a hydraulic trailer stage, they all come with a engineer certificate certificate from the manufacturer. Also, all of those trailers are Class C trailers and the federal government requires an annual DOT inspection. The AV vendor should be able to provide that documentation.?

Question for you- was their an incident that led to the state requiring inspections? I worked in NC long ago and we had to get certified on scissor lifts due to incident at Notre Dame. I’m just curious. If there was an incident, more state universities may require inspections.
