  Black History Month Member Spotlight – Feb 5

  Hello everyone,

  Happy Monday! The following quote is from today’s member spotlight.

  “One of my great mentors has a quote that I love, “everyone’s problem is NOT your problem.”?You’re there to help and guide and be of assistance. But not every problem is for you to carry…we should all do our best to be there for each other. But that doesn’t mean that you take on everything, so find space to be there for your team and your supervisors and your colleagues as well as your students.? Otherwise you’re gonna burn out and burnout is real.”

  The virtual room was snapping after that “lesson in session.” From that moment I called her the Gem Dropper. Taking on her first volunteer role at ACUI in 2011, she now serves as the co-lead for COMP (Community of Multi-ethnic Professionals and Allies), a mentor for Closing the Gap, and she is on the 2025 Conference Planning Team.
