Cara – Hello there.? We recently made the decision to switch from EMS to 25Live. Academic Affairs and Athletics are using 25Live, and have been using it for years.? The student center, as well as all other university meeting/event space are on EMS.? ?Our EMS agreement expires at the close of July and we will be transitioning to 25Live.? We are a campus of 18,600.? While I have used 25Live at a previous institution, I will be changing over from EMS to 25Live for the first time. My previous experience should ease the transition. If you identify other institutions that have made the switch, or are making the switch, maybe we could form a small group and collaborate with one another.??

Carole – Hello there.  Miami University is making the transition because Academic Affairs, as well as Athletics are already using it.  If we move the student center and conference services (as well as our regional campuses) to 25Live we will have a whole campus scheduling solution.  There is a significant benefit to having 25Live serve as the system of record for all events, classes and athletics information.  Chief among these is our ability to respond to emergencies and increased safety.  We will soon, at the touch of a button, be able to report on all events/activities taking place on a given day (ex. emergency shutdown, active shooter, contamination), identify who is hosting those activities and respond accordingly.  At the moment, we have a decentralized system, and moving to a single system of record not only makes sense from an operations perspective, but from a safety perspective.

Georgia State University is also switching from EMS to 25Live so that we have one system for all spaces on 7 campuses. David Murkison, dmurkison@gsu.edu, the Director of the Student Center is the lead on this project. We will be completely on 25Live by Fall 2025. I love Geoff’s suggestion of forming a group.
